This exquisite antique hammered brass oval jardinière is the kind of find that stops you in your tracks. Hand-beaten brass catches the light in that particular way only age can produce — warm, golden, alive. Ornate rococo-style appliqué scrolls across the front in cast brass, flanked by the most beautiful scallop shell and claw feet you’ve ever seen on a piece this intimate in scale.
An auction lot tag remains on the base — a quiet little proof of a life well traveled. Before it found us, it found someone else who loved it enough to send it out into the world properly. Now it’s yours to discover.
Fill it with lemons on a kitchen island. Pile it with clementines in winter. Arrange garden clippings in it on a dining table. Tuck champagne and ice inside for a dinner party and simply accept the compliments all evening.

Please note there are a few small areas where the seams have opened slightly — easily sealed if you plan to use it with water or ice. As with all antique metalwork, this is simply evidence of a long and beautiful life.
